MAJOR DUTIES: Provides a safe aquatic environment for active duty, military families, and authorized DOD employees, supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control. Promotes Aquatic Training and Recreation programs to patrons. Responsible as a swimming lifeguard to perform rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid and calls for medical assistance as necessary. Enforces safety and pool regulations. Responsible for general housekeeping. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Minimum age 16 years old. Six-month experience as a pool lifeguard preferred. Lifeguard certification upon hire. Knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to process paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Must know and use proper telephone etiquette. Skill in the use and maintenance of pool equipment is desired. Must have a working knowledge of Aquatics rescue equipment, as well as the Aquatics working relationship with customers, co-workers, and management. CPR& First Aid certification required upon hire. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
