Reporting Options
Understanding reporting choices can help survivors make the decision that feels right for them. The Navy recognizes two primary reporting options:
-
Restricted Reporting — confidential support without command or law enforcement involvement
-
Unrestricted Reporting — initiates command and law enforcement notification
Reporting options may vary by state. Speaking with a local SAPR Coordinator can help clarify what is available in your area.
If You Think You Were Sexually Assaulted
You can reach out at any time to the Safe Helpline, a SAPR Coordinator, or a Command SAPR Victim Advocate for confidential support.
If Someone You Supervise Discloses an Assault
Connect them with a SAPR Coordinator or Command SAPR Victim Advocate so they can receive immediate support.
