Bartender
MAJOR DUTIES: Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish where a working knowledge of the various mixed drinks is required. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons. Counts end of shift cash. Prepares Daily Activity Report (DAR). Drops change fund, completed DAR and daily receipts in designated drop safe. Sets bar for operation and obtains change fund. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Responsible for maintaining bar in clean condition and keeping the bar properly stocked. May be required to assist in stocking service bar and serve at catered parties from service or portable bar. Must have working knowledge of sanitation procedures. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must be able to read and comprehend English and write legibly. A minimum of 6 months practical experience is preferred. Incumbent is required to have knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages from a bar, which is limited to a few varieties and brands of liquor, soda, beer and wine. Must have the ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly persons and resolve problems or seek assistance if needed. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
