         Position:   Motor Vehicle Operator (Recycle Division)     NA – 5703-06

                        Salary:      $17.68 HOURLY

                        Status:      Full Time – w/ Benefits

Location:  NAS Fallon, Nevada

                        AREA OF CONSIDERATION: NAS FALLON commuting area

MAJOR DUTIES: Must drive several types of vehicles with manual transmissions from three quarter ton to five ton vans or trucks and forklifts on regular trip basis between scheduled pick-up points to gather recyclable material. Required to tow small utility trailers six to twelve feet in length, both on station and on U.S. Highways. Is responsible for safe operation of all assigned equipment and care of vehicles and trailers; checking brake and electrical systems, checking condition of all required safety equipment, and cleaning assigned vehicles. Required to load recyclable materials into containers for hauling to recycling facility and unloading and sorting into appropriate batch containers upon arrival at facility. Required to load bottles and cans into containers for hauling to recycling facility and unloading and sorting into appropriate batch containers upon arrival at facility. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must be able to read and write the English language. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to drive vehicles with manual transmissions. Must have a thorough knowledge of the capabilities and capacities of all vehicles operated and trailers towed and be skilled in handling and properly controlling such vehicles. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., know safety regulations involving lifting cargo, maintain log sheets and have the ability to learn to operate recycling equipment and a forklift. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
