Cook

MAJOR DUTIES: Prepares and cooks a full range of simple menu items according to established recipes. Assists in the preparation of more complex menu items. Measures and weighs portions and ingredients as required by recipe. Serves customers at counter; receives orders and serves food and beverages in accordance with prescribed portions. Maintains equipment and keeps area clean and sanitized. Assists with inventory as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Working knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation or fast food operation.  Knowledge of simple cooking equipment and utensils.  Knowledge of a wide variety of short order foods.  Knowledge of sanitation principles.  Ability to read and follow recipes and combine ingredients for cooked dishes.  Knowledge and ability to operate and clean a wide range of kitchen equipment.  Ability to plan, coordinate and time the sequence of steps required to have menu items for serving on time.  Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
